Since when did people started calling putting another person's work (Reshade/SweetFX) and their settings for it a 'mod'?

I downloaded it and it was so dark that I thought I was playing a horror game. Any way to change the brightness?
use the command "incrementvar mat_ambient_light_r 0 0.05 0.05;incrementvar mat_ambient_light_g 0 0.05 0.05;incrementvar mat_ambient_light_b 0 0.05 0.05" in dev console and it should make it brighter
To be fair most of the lights in the facility have been destroyed
